Why I Chose Alasconnect – And What Comes Next
If you had asked me twenty years ago where I’d end up, I wouldn’t have said Alaska. But sometimes the right place isn’t one you find on a map—it’s one that calls to you. For me, Alasconnect is that place.
I’ve spent over 25 years in telecom and engineering, leading teams across the country—from Tennessee to North Carolina, then Washington, and finally, over a decade ago, Alaska. I’ve always believed that great work happens where people, purpose, and systems come together—and that’s what I saw in Alasconnect.
Joining this team isn’t just a career move. It’s a commitment to something bigger. Because Alasconnect isn’t your average tech company. We’re rooted in the belief that technology should serve people, not the other way around.
That belief isn’t just a slogan—it’s something you feel here. In how our teams support clients. In the way we talk about infrastructure. In how we build trust first, and tech second.
What I’ve Learned About Leadership
Leadership, to me, has never been about titles. It’s about being accountable to the people you serve. It’s about listening—really listening—and using data, clarity, and empathy to drive meaningful decisions. The best systems in the world are useless if they don’t help someone thrive.
My passion is helping people unlock potential. Whether it’s a teammate, a client, or even a process that needs a second look, I’m drawn to finding better ways forward. I’ve always believed that strategy and compassion can coexist—and that business decisions don’t have to come at the expense of human ones.
Why Now? Why Alasconnect?
Alasconnect has been evolving. In 2024, we reintroduced our name, refreshed our identity, and made a bold promise: to humanize technology.
That’s not lip service. That’s who we are. And it’s why I said yes.
We offer secure, scalable IT solutions—cybersecurity, managed services, data center infrastructure—but what makes us different is how we show up. We don’t offer products. We offer partnership. We don’t just fix issues. We anticipate them. We listen. We adapt. We make technology personal, purposeful, and built for Alaska.
What’s Ahead
Now that I’ve stepped into the role of General Manager, I’m focused on what’s next. And what’s next is growth—with intention.
We’re expanding our cybersecurity consulting practice. We’re doubling down on data center offerings. We’re looking ahead, not just to what clients need now, but what they’ll need next. That means faster response. More clarity. Smarter systems. And deeper community ties.
To every current and future client, I want to say this:
You can count on us. We’ll meet you where you are—and walk with you toward where you want to go. You’ll never have to navigate complex tech alone again. We’ve got your back.
Let’s Build Something That Lasts
This isn’t just about IT. It’s about impact. I’m here because I believe Alasconnect can lead not just with infrastructure—but with heart.
We’re not just connecting systems. We’re connecting people to what’s possible.
And that’s the kind of work I want to do every day.
